Which Flap Disc Do You Need?
The different variations have definite application advantages. For
example the flat discs are best suited for flat surface grinding and
offer a high degree of aggressiveness.
The 6˚ convex discs are best suited for flat or slight contour work
and are 25% - 30% more aggressive than the 12˚ convex discs.
Our 12˚ convex discs are perfect for more contoured work and are
easier to use for many inexperienced users.
Angled VS Flat
An angled flap disc will grind a narrower
band of material then what a flat flap disc
will. This narrower work space makes
an angled disc well suited for working
edges, welded seams, and rounded
surfaces. The flat flap discs will allow you
to work flat surfaces at a greater rate,
creating a more consistent surface.
